Mr Dick SimmonsThank you for your letter of 6th February 2005. I'm sorry for the delay in replying which was partly due to a holiday in Thailand.
I am very happy to recommend Anagram ENCORE software. This department has used ENCORE software since February 2001 and we do not have any plans to change! We find it easy to learn and to use - much more so than our previous (and very much more expensive) system from another supplier.
Our particular need is for a system that is effectively handles our manufacturing requirements and provides full product and batch traceabilty. ENCORE meets that need very well.
We found that when researching systems that many claimed full batch traceabilty when in reality they only meant serial number traceabilty. Following a recall of raw material (thankfully a relatively rare event) we can see if we have purchased the raw material, identify the products and batches that we have made from the recalled material and identify our customers that have received those products and batches. ENCORE enables us to do this quickly and easily which means that within a few minutes of receiving a recall we can be contacting our customer with vital information.
I would also like to mention the excellent support that we get from your agents Ryba Macaulay Ltd. of Cambridge. Daniel Clark has always been very helpful and knowledgeable and very patient!
The first computer system that this department (and I) ever used was an Anagram system which ran on a Commodore Pet computer with proper floppy disks, back in the mid 80's! Thank you for still being there!
